June 29th 2019: Dear Black Girl, I Love You

Doin' it for 99 and the 00's

Where Da Party At? is the ultimate early 2000’s party curated by NeshaKiwi and Dj Dopestar

We wanted to take you back to an era when house parties were the move, when Cristal was the bubbly of choice, when you anticipated Free and AJ announcing the “New Joint of the Day”, when your fitted cap and your throwback jersey had to match to a T, and when Dame Dash could get a call back from Jay-Z. We created this experience to pay homage to one of the most influential era’s that inspired today’s urban culture.

To make the experience as authentic as possible, as if you traveled back to ’03…we like to see our guest dressed in classic early 2000s fashion. Whip out that Apple Bottom and Sean John shawty!

Black Women Matter

Society has dehumanized black women in many ways by downplaying our intelligence and appearance and over-sexualizing our bodies. It is very hard to love yourself in a world where everyone makes you feel unworthy. As black women, we need healing and a lot of soul-searching in order to overcome the stigma this world has placed on us. Dear Black Girl, I love you Is an event where we will have an open discussion on the struggles of self-love, self-care, and self-worth as a black woman, followed by activities/exercises catered to help us show more appreciation towards ourselves. Each participant will leave with a goodie bag from our lovely sponsors and well as beautiful memories made with black queens.
